The DA has been on the IFAT from 14 – 18 May 2018

This year the recycling of mineral building materials was presented for the first time at the  world’s leading trade fair IFAT.

Within the scope of the practical days “Mineral Processing”, the DA presented the recycling of building material, starting at the place where the material is produced to quality-assured recycled building material.

This year, the latest processing technology for the recycling of mineral construction and demolition waste was presented for the first time at the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies themed “Sustainable Usage of resources”. The German Demolition Association (DA) was represented at the trade fair IFAT with a joint stand together with the associations VDMA as well as Baustoff Recycling Bayern e.V. and the TU Munich.

There the visitors were shown the material cycle from the creation process of construction waste, starting with demolition by our member companies from the demolition industry, to the quality assured recycling building material. During the live demonstrations, which took place several times a day, the interested could follow the demonstrated shredding and sorting processes. The practical demonstrations were accompanied by interviews with the involved associations and manufacturers.

Despite the uncomfortable weather conditions on some days, the demonstrations were always very well attended. With certain restrictions, which usually accompany premieres, these first practical days “Mineral Processing” and the participation of the DA can be described as a complete success. In view of the increasing awareness of the need for sustainability and resource conservation, the practical days “Mineral Processing” will certainly become an integral part of the trade fair IFAT in the future.
