DA member companies have created a lot of space for new buildings in recent months. In the \u2018Construction site of the week\u2019 section, the diversity of the demolition projects was presented. The construction sites of the week are listed once again in a short review.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In some cases, the demolition of wind turbines<\/a><\/strong>, sports halls<\/a>, chimneys<\/a><\/strong>, a bell tower<\/a><\/strong>, motorway bridges<\/a><\/strong>, administrative buildings<\/a><\/strong>, silos<\/strong><\/a> and tall inner-city buildings<\/a><\/strong> was a challenging task. However, a demolition project is not just about technology. Many other factors, such as nature and neighbourhood protection, safety requirements and potential hazards, have to be taken into account. The disposal and processing of the resulting materials also play a major role.<\/p>\n

The challenge of dismantling power plants<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2024, the DA member companies have (once again) taken on the challenge of dismantling power plants and tailored very different procedures to the respective projects. In both the blasting of the power plant in Voerde<\/a><\/strong> and Ensdorf<\/a><\/strong> (report in ABBRUCH AKTUELL 03\/2024), those involved can look back on a challenging planning phase with a final successful blasting result. However, conventional dismantling with excavators and concrete shears, such as at the nuclear power plant in Stade<\/a><\/strong> (report in ABBRUCH AKTUELL 04\/2024) or in M\u00fclheim-K\u00e4rlich<\/a><\/strong>, as well as at the power plant in Ibbenb\u00fcren<\/a><\/strong>, also leads to a similarly high level of effort. The considerable quantities of materials produced (several hundred thousand tonnes of building rubble) document the dimensions of the constructions.<\/p>\n

The emergency demolition of the Carola Bridge in Dresden<\/a><\/strong> was particularly memorable this year.
