A building site of a somewhat different kind is currently under construction in Altenburg, Thuringia. A former grammar school, which was built in 1729 on the site of the Franciscan monastery there, is to be repaired, modernised and converted.<\/p>\n

Preservation of the staircases, flights of stairs, window sills, floors and interior door leaves in accordance with heritage conservation regulations<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a lot to do on the 5 floors of the time-honoured school. DA member company Container-Dienst Seyfarth GmbH from Schm\u00f6lln is taking care of the non-structural demolition and selective dismantling of the suspended ceilings, wall and ceiling panelling that are no longer required, as well as the chimney and masonry walls. The almost 300-year-old building is also a listed building. The staircases and flights of stairs, window sills, floors and interior door leaves are to be preserved in accordance with monument protection regulations and have therefore been neatly covered. First of all, work is carried out in the contaminated areas and the mould is removed. Subsequently, 6 people will remove the doors and windows and carry out the remaining dismantling work using small equipment. The mineral waste will be processed in a certified crushing and screening plant from TEREX Finlay at the company’s headquarters. The work is scheduled for completion in February 2025. The project was commissioned by the Altenburg city council.<\/p>\n

Once completed, a multimedia gaming experience world is set to reopen in autumn 2027. In three experience areas, visitors will be able to experience the power that \u2018play\u2019 can unfold in our society. The total investment amounts to 24.7 million euros.<\/p>\n
