Demolition and Dismantling as the Heart of the Circular Economy<\/strong><\/p>\n

The German Demolition Association (Deutscher Abbruchverband e. V., DA) is now listed as a circular-economy stakeholder in North Rhine-Westphalia on the \u201cCircular Economy Map NRW\u201d operated by CE.NRW (under the umbrella of NRW.Energy4Climate). The new interactive platform showcases companies, projects, and networks driving the circular economy across the state and strengthens connections within the community.<\/p>\n

\u201cDemolition and dismantling are not an end point \u2014 they are the moment when circularity becomes tangible: reuse, recycling, clean material flows, and robust verification determine how circular we truly build,\u201d says Andreas Pocha, Managing Director of the German Demolition Association. \u201cThat the German Demolition Association is represented on the map is a logical step: we want to make visible the role our industry plays for resource security, climate protection, and future-proof value creation \u2014 and, as an association, lead by example.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cCircular Economy Map NRW\u201d was presented at the Circular Valley Convention in D\u00fcsseldorf. It includes more than 500 entries and can be filtered by areas of action, target groups, and regions, among other criteria. Each entry includes further information to facilitate targeted searches for contacts, projects, and offerings.<\/p>\n

NRW.Energy4Climate emphasizes the importance of the circular economy as a key building block for a resilient, competitive, and climate-neutral economy \u2014 especially for an industrial state such as North Rhine-Westphalia. Economically, the topic is already highly relevant today: in North Rhine-Westphalia, more than \u20ac20 billion in annual gross value added can be attributed to the circular economy; in addition, more than 180 companies across the state are active in the circular-economy context and\/or have embedded R-strategies such as reduce, reuse, or recycle in their value creation.<\/p>\n

With its listing on the map, the German Demolition Association underscores its role as the representative body for an industry that makes circularity possible in practice \u2014 from selective dismantling and hazardous-substance remediation to the high-quality processing of mineral construction materials. The aim is to further intensify exchange with companies, municipalities, research institutions, and networks, and to actively help shape the development of circular solutions in North Rhine-Westphalia.<\/p>\n
