Since 2019, four master programs leading to the qualification \u201cCertified Master for Demolition and Concrete Cutting Technology\u201d have already been successfully completed at the Hamm Training Center (ABZ). In total, 24 young masters have so far been qualified for leadership roles in the industry. Five more are currently in the pipeline; their final exams will take place at the end of April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year we are once again looking for the \u2018masters of tomorrow,\u2019 because in September we want to start a new master class for the demolition and concrete drilling and sawing sector,\u201d explains Anna Nierhaus, Head of Continuing Education and Training at ABZ Hamm. She provides personal advice to interested companies and employees in advance. Registrations are still possible until the end of May 2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eight Months of Intensive Training<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The master program runs for around <strong>eight months full-time<\/strong> and comprises approximately <strong>1,200 teaching hours<\/strong>. It is divided into three modules:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Trainer Aptitude (AEVO):<\/strong> 7\u201318 September 2026<\/li>\n<li><strong>Basic Qualification:<\/strong> 21 September\u201327 November 2026<\/li>\n<li><strong>Action-Specific Qualification:<\/strong> 11 January\u201330 April 2027<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each part concludes with a partial examination. In addition to technical expertise, the curriculum also includes business and organizational competencies, preparing future masters for leadership and trainer roles.<\/p>\n<p>Detailed information and the option to register online can be found at <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bauakademie-west.de\/\">www.bauakademie-west.de<\/a><\/strong> (search term: \u201cMeister Abbruch und Betontrenntechnik\u201d) or via <strong>\u201cCertified Master for Demolition and Concrete Cutting Technology\u201d \u2013 IHK Dortmund<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Multiple Entry Pathways<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Participation depends on professional qualifications within the industry.<br \/>\nStructural demolition mechanics (Bauwerksmechaniker) specializing in demolition and concrete cutting can start directly after completing their training, although additional practical experience is recommended.<\/p>\n<p>Career changers with construction-related training need at least <strong>one year<\/strong> of professional experience in demolition or concrete drilling and sawing; applicants from other professions need <strong>two years<\/strong>. Unskilled workers may also obtain the master title if they are suitable and have at least <strong>four years<\/strong> of professional experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The master course is eligible for funding: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aufstiegs-bafoeg.de\/\">www.aufstiegs-bafoeg.de<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Foreman and Site Supervisor (Werkpolier)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ABZ Hamm also offers annual continuing education programs for <strong>foreman<\/strong> and <strong>site supervisor (Werkpolier)<\/strong> in demolition and concrete cutting technology. The courses run for <strong>two<\/strong> or <strong>six weeks<\/strong>. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate issued by the collective bargaining parties.<\/p>\n<p>More information is available at: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bauakademie-west.de\/\">www.bauakademie-west.de<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With these training programs, the Hamm Training Center sends a clear signal for the sustainable qualification of skilled and managerial personnel\u2014and for the future viability of a specialized industry. The German Demolition Association (Deutscher Abbruchverband e.V.) supports the training at ABZ Hamm from foreman level to site supervisor and master level.
