European Demolition Industry Meeting, 2-3 March 2018, Berlin

24th Demolition Conference – the demolition industry’s premier event

The keynote speaker is former State Minister Michael Groschek. The conference features a further 15 talks by leading industry experts on topical demolition issues and a parallel exhibition showcasing a wide range of professional products.

The German Demolition Association (DA) will host the 24th Demolition Conference at Hotel MARITIM, Stauffenbergstraße, Berlin, from 2-3 March 2018. A Dialogue Evening will be held after the conference in the “LOEWE Saal” on the second floor of Ludwig Loewe Höfe, a fine listed building.

This year, the European demolition and dismantling industry’s largest event was attended by over 900 professionals and 115 exhibitors from 15 different countries – once again the bar has been set high for the 2018 convention.

The Demolition Conference will open with a keynote speech by former State Minister Michael Groschek. The high-level technical conference program features a further 15 talks by leading industry experts on a fascinating range of topical demolition issues, with a wealth of practical information on interesting project reports, key law changes and innovative recycling processes.

This year’s topics include “Extreme demolition in the heart of Munich – a symbiosis of demolition, specialist civil engineering and new construction” and “The hazardous substance inventory as the essential basis for professional demolition planning”. As usual, the conference will cover a wide range of themes, with talks on challenging subjects such as “300 t of sprayed asbestos – the extensive rehabilitation of a high-rise building: the Deutsche Welle building in Cologne” and “Liability issues for demolition company executives”, construction site reports including the demolition and gutting of the Zeilgalerie shopping center in Frankfurt am Main, practical examples from the DA’s Technical Committee on Blasting Technology, etc.

Simultaneous interpretation into English and French will be provided to cater for our growing numbers of international visitors.

An industry exhibition will run in parallel to the conference. By late November 2017, 90% of the available exhibition space had already been snapped up by leading manufacturers and suppliers. We look forward to a wide range of exciting products again this year. Interested exhibitors should contact us as soon as possible, while spaces are still available.

The Dialogue Evening held immediately after the conference traditionally provides an excellent opportunity to strengthen bonds with friends and establish new connections. The “LOEWE Saal”, with its singular industrial ambience, provides an ample venue for all participants.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to take a guided tour of Berlin on the second day of the conference.

The conference programme is available for download both from the DA website and from the dedicated conference website at www.demolition-conference.com.

It contains all the information you need about the 24th Demolition Conference and can also be used to register for the event (online registration only). The German Demolition Association looks forward to seeing you soon!
