Demolition of the A7 bridge near Uttrichshausen

The demolition of the Uttrichshausen viaduct will take place between April 2025 and March 2026 and will be carried out by DA member company A&S Betondemontage. The structure is around 70 years old and has a total length of 900 metres, a width of 35 metres and a height of 33.5 metres. The demolition site covers an area of approximately 45,000 m².

The bridge was originally built over the village of Uttrichshausen, which is why special requirements regarding safety and environmental protection must be taken into account. The demolition will be carried out using the advance scaffolding method.

The structure consists mainly of concrete containing asbestos, which means that appropriate protection and disposal measures are necessary. A total of around 52,000 tonnes of material will be generated during demolition, of which 3,000 tonnes of asbestos will be disposed of separately. Most of the material will be processed directly on site.

Various machines will be used, including a KMC 600, a Kteg 390, two ZX 350, as well as drilling and sawing technology. A Klemmann Evo 130 crusher and screening plant will also be used for further processing. The work will be carried out by a team of 5 to 10 skilled workers.

The client is the Federal Government.
